19th Century Napa River
Location: First and Main Streets - Artists: Steve Della Maggiora and Susan Clifford

Our Goals

  1. Work to achieve a neighborhood-based consensus regarding Napa's future preservation and development in order to establish a positive planning context for political decision making.
  2. Improve communications between local government and the neighborhoods with respect to land use policy and proposed projects.
  3. Identify and give voice to specific neighborhood needs and aspirations.
  4. Assist the City in planning and financing needed public improvements and services.
  5. Provide testimony at public hearings, when deemed appropriate by the ANN.

Proposal: Neighborhood audio vignettes

Markers at various locations in neighborhoods. Current and past neighbors can make audio recordings which are available online as .mp3 files. People connect to these recordings with their mobile phones. Markers (yellow arrrows and green ears) have been used elsewhere) at various locations in the neighborhood provide a QR code (see www.wikipedia.org/qr_codes) which when scanned by your phone, plays the audio. You can listen to personal stories and anecdotes about the events and history in the area of the very spot you're standing from someone who lives (or lived) in that neighborhood.
